Roberta

The  village has lost one of its most caring ladies and heaven has gained a new angel. Roberta Fromkin will be missed.

Just give me my refund.

What a disappointment.
Disruptive idiots, delegates that haven't a clue, downright STUPID arguments over the silliest of things.
ASSEMBLY
First let me say that the seats in the auditorium are not reserved, they do not have anyone's name on them, with the possible exception of the the seats on the stage... To see a stupid argument over a seat was downright silly. Yes, you know who you are. To think that just because you sit in a particular seat most of the year, and then try to demand that someone else move... wow. Are we privileged or what? NEWSFLASH...you are not.

BUDGET
Ed Grossman volunteers to go over the books at UCO at no cost... All for it. That probably surprised a few, but what the hell, why not? It MAY just shut him up, or it may actually bring to light something that needs to come out. Enough with the innuendo and false accusations. He put his money where his mouth is, and as much as I do not care for the man personally, let's see if he actually does it. Mr Treasurer, the ball is in your court.

WIFI
Taking the money from WIFI and putting anywhere but wifi (without an emergency, i.e. Hurricane) is in my opinion downright stupid. That money was collected for a specific purpose and if it is not going to be used FOR that purpose, then I demand a refund.
The people against having WiFi are probably the same people that were against having cable TV, and probably thought television was a passing fad. Maybe they should bring back the 'ol Vic or surrey and put up an old livery stable. Geez people, Get out of the stone age! The world isn't flat anymore...
Or didn't you get the news?

During the officers meeting,  people were complaining that the President wanted PBSO presence to maintain some order and it voted down. Seems people think that the opposition will behave since two were removed by delegate vote last month. They don't want PBSO there, and Now we see why. If PBSO is there, they behave, just to "Prove" that order did not need to be maintained, but when the cats away...

Since Security apparently can not touch a person, then I suggest the security orders be redefined to include the capability to restrain/detain until local enforcement arrives.

Think With Your Brain and NOT Your Tuchis.

While I am not looking to sell, there may come a day that I may want to, or if I should pass, my place will be sold to be split among my heirs. I would like them to have something substantial to be able to put away for their children's collage funds or a nice down payment on something for their families.
The only way to achieve this is to ensure that the property values  of this village rise over the next few years rather than fall.
Having WiFi will only increase the value of every place here. Sure some say they don't want to leave, they are not looking to sell or invest, but fact of the matter is you already invested. You have invested in your future by moving here, and you have invested in your children and their children when you leave this earth.
Are you going to leave your place to the government? I don't think so, Are you going to leave it to your cat? Some of you will, even though the cat won't leave a will and it'll go to the government...
Think with your brain and not your tuchis.
If WiFi could bring your family an extra 5, 10 or 20 thousand, wouldn't that make you happy? I know it would for me.
The ASSEMBLY voted to collect this money FOR WiFi, NOT to fill in some gap in the budget that should have been filled before.

This money was designated FOR WiFi. To use it for anything else, except in case of a Catastrophic emergency, would be criminal. That means it was collected under false pretenses and should be refunded. (that would be one hell of a mess).
The misleading papers put on doors makes it look like opting out is a done deal. It's not. Personally, I would love to see the ones that opt out in about a year, begging to be put in. I say opt out...fine, but be prepared to pay a penalty when you try to opt in later.
Think about that.
and use your brain.

Edwardo speaks out of is rear end...AGAIN!

I just happened to read the Malcontent blog and saw that Edwardo, master of deceit, is throwing my name around again. Grow up, get a hobby, go out and get some or whatever you want to do, just keep my name out of your mouth. Take note, I do not post anonymously. If you don't have the balls to sign your name...YOUR REAL NAME and not some made up name, then it isn't worth reading. THAT ESPECIALLY is directed to EddyBoy. And while you are throwing out Tetro references, I pass by 100 OXFORD DAILY!!! SHE, NOR YOU LIVE THERE. MOOT POINT. I especially love the idiot coming down on me accusing me of writing anonymously, and then signs it anonymous.  POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK. Simple way to check if it's me...look for my name. It will say Bob's Blog, and if I happen to use my other email, it posts my picture.

this idiotic posting is dated yesterday but the comments are dated back in January...must be psychic.

Israel arbitrarily changing UCO Bylaws

FOR ALL TO KNOW:  David Israel, the great master of lies, deception and back-room sneakiness, does it again.

At his own whim, he decides to change the UCO Bylaws.  He has no approval of the Delegates or anybody else for that matter.  He just does anything he wants to do, and nobody, that's right nobody, tells him he just can't do it. This is hard to believe, but it is true,---he changes the Bylaws to suit himself.

In reference to the Dorothy Tetro Treasurer recall fiasco, Israel is playing the manipulation game once again, similar to the various SCANDALS.

The UCO Bylaws state in part: " The President shall appoint a Board of inquiry composed of no less than five (5)  and no more than seven (7) members of UCO, which shall conduct a hearing expeditiously. "

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines the word "expeditious" as "Acting or done with
speed and efficiency."  "Expeditiously" is the adverb.

Mr. Israel, who was heading up this Board of Inquiry, had the Patricia Sealander petition in hand that was  acceptable to the Delegates, WELL OVER THREE MONTHS AGO.  That is a basic fact, --- it is more like THREE AND ONE-HALF MONTHS AGO.   So, the master of deception violates the UCO Bylaws.  Is that okay, --- is it okay to violate
the Bylaws?  Ed Black, who is a part of the master scheme to control the money, may think so also.

So, why does this master manipulator do this, you may ask?  He needs to instill fear and worry upon Dorothy Tetro, as he does with all of his victims.  He plans to drag his outrageous scheme out to try and eliminate the person who has gotten in the way of his master plan to control the money, ---- all of the money.

People of Century Village, --- you've got to stop this mean-spirited, wicked czar.  He has done nothing for this Village in nearly four years, and he is constantly causing hate and dissension among its inhabitants.

IS THIS ANY WAY TO LIVE, --- A DICTATOR WHO JUST CHANGES THE RULES TO SUIT HIMSELF?

100% OF YOU WOULD SAY "NO."  SO, LET'S GET THE OGRE OUT OF OFFICE.....AND AS A GOING AWAY PRESENT, HE CAN TAKE THE CHAIR THAT HE KEEPS WARM ALL DAY LONG WITH HIM.

  1. Ed Ross. You haven't a clue what you are writing about. Dorothy Tetro moved out of the village. Therefore she no longer meets the criteria to hold the position of Treasurer. It is for our benefit that she will be recalled.

    1. Hey, Anonymous, I think that you may have a mistaken identity. I wrote the three postings and you're attributing them to a different name. That is why you sign off as "Anonymous," you don't have the gonads to state your name. You really need to crawl back under your rock.

You state: "Therefore she no longer meets the criteria to hold the position of Treasurer." She meets every condition set forth in the UCO Bylaws......and, YOU GO BY THE UCO BYLAWS, AS WRITTEN, NOT YOUR INTERPRETATION.

Do you want to make up some new rules like Israel does? You go ahead and prove, beyond a preponderance of the evidence submitted with the complaint of record, that she doesn't live in Century Village. Instead of making a dumb statement "Anonymous," it is up to you to provide evidence from the documents that were submitted, that she doesn't live at Oxford 100, or any other apartment in CV, at least 9 months out of the year, and then put your name to it.

Then, you mouth off a comical statement: "It is for our benefit that she will be recalled." Oh, you're so sure about that? For whose "benefit" are you referring......Israel? Are you that blind that you can't see what's going on?

She has a few more weeks to serve out her term as Treasurer, but I sense that you're as mean-spirited as the typical CV person who doesn't have a life. As a matter of fact, I feel sorry for you. EDUARDO

  3. It is either Bob Rivera or Grace, because they are the only two people ignorant enough to make the comment that it is for our benefit that Dorothy will be recalled. They would even be dumb enough to clap their hands to demonstrate enjoyment and approval while Dave blows our money away. They ought to marry each other because they seem to be a well matched pair, and both are single.

Need Help Gary?

Gary Olman, Do you actually read the UCO Reporter, or do you just glance at the names of the writer and ignore whatever is written? You complain the David Israel appointed Anitra to "explain"  the Florida condo laws..

You state: "She has been tasked to explain the Florida Condo Laws. I don't think Rick Scott could do a credible job on that. But the Wizard of OZ thinks Anitra has the credentials to explain  these Condo Laws. So much for his choice of a font of knowledge"
BUT if you took the time to actually read the article, you would see that the only thing there is THE ACTUAL LAW AS WRITTEN.
Maybe a new pair of glasses is in order, or maybe someone could read it to you.
If your vision is that bad, give a call, I'd be happy to read it for you.
You really need to stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Get with it... Get involved.

    1. First, Yes, this IS NSA territory... ALL of the USA is NSA territory. That's why it's called the National Security Agency. The National Security Agency (NSA) is a U.S. intelligence agency responsible for global monitoring, collection, decoding, translation and analysis of information and data for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence purposes - a discipline known as Signals intelligence (SIGINT). NSA is also charged with protection of U.S. government communications and information systems against penetration and network warfare. (from Wikipedia) That being put aside, it really shouldn't matter what one did before they retired and moved here. Just because someone was truck driver doesn't mean they can drive safely. Not every Army soldier goes around shooting Howitzers. Not every teacher can teach. (this is not meant as a personal affront, just an example, I do have respect for the writer of the NSA comment, I just do not agree with it). now on to ... the rest of the story...
How can people ever get with it and up to date on technology if someone doesn't tell them how or show them first? The following comments were made when Lanny asked about getting channel 63 on his computer... "This is how you access it, isn't it? I downloaded the thing--now what do I do to GET the 63 programming to show? Perhaps I'd better bring my laptop PC to someone to be shown? Until now I've only ever watched 63 on the TV."   Of course there are many in the Village that do not know how to access anything on a computer simply because they have never learned.
  1. Much of the uncertainty and yes, even ignorance of technology leads to fear and paranoia that someone will be watching what you say or do. This works well in backwards or underdeveloped countries, but shouldn't here in the USA.  I especially like Carol's comment "having the cameras at the gates is good..." but ..."having the cameras broadcast out over the internet is sickening. Now people can watch the cameras to see when you go out and when you return..."  Having the cameras on the gate ARE a good thing. You can see when your guests arrives, and should some illegal activity occur, the Police have visual documentation of a suspected criminal entering or leaving the village.
  2. Security of the village is the responsibility of every resident. You can't just hire a security firm and forget it... They will hire whoever they can get to work as cheaply as possible (No offense intended to residents that work for the Security firms). It is convenient for many to work where they live, and they have a vested interest in the security of our village.
  3. People complain about the lack of security in the village, but when something happens and they are questioned by the police, many of them are the same ones that may say "I don't want to get involved..." WAKE UP!!!  Face the fact that if you really want to be secure, you have to get involved. I recently saw a small documentary that showed how people played loud music and their homeowners association member were quick to knock on their doors and call police for "noise violations". A few days later, same unit played LOUD audio of domestic violence. Loud shouting, sounds of a man beating a woman, her screams. They played it for a pretty long time then went outside... not a single person on the street, not a single call to the police. THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED.  Says a lot... Don't let that happen here...don't just fly away.
  4. (stealing from Paul Harvey...) and that's the rest of the story....good day!

Gary Oldman speaks... doesn't make him right. Not by a long shot. They say oily fish, blueberries and eggs are good for the memory ...

or maybe some good old fashioned Geritol...

Reserves and Blame

On  bobs know nothing blog he states that the fault of the lack of Reserves was the Previous Treasurers fault. The fact of the matter is that Israel and Black took the reserves to pay the paving bills. Not the Treasurer. Had they done this legally the Delegates would of had a vote, which they didn't.

2 comments:

  1. I think he'd better go back and play all the videos from the time Dorothy was our treasurer. She repeatedly told us we didn't have enough money in our reserves, and the lying creep of a president of UCO constantly insisted that she was wrong. What did you do Bob - sleep through every delegate meeting? Maybe you were too busy playing with your pet.

  2. Gary is wrong. The delegates did vote for the shoddy road job. I was there! I know you won't post this but you and I know you are wrong!

I posted it here because Gary usually censors what I write on his blog. I am actually surprised he let Grace's answer get by.
You're slipping Gary. Carole, I understand your animosity towards Sadie. Many people are ignorant of the benefits of a Service animal, you among them.

Finance Meeting

Todays Finance Meeting was quick... a little too quick for some.
The so-called malcontents are pleased with the idea of WiFi going away, but is it?
For the moment, the proposed
budget has the money that was collected and designated for WIFI going into the reserve funds to make up for a shortfall that our previous treasurers failed to account for.
Mind you, it can't all be blamed on them, the Delegates DID VOTE and create said shortfall.
Oh everyone is saying they want to save a dime here or a nickel there, but when it comes right down to brass tacks, cutting Wifi off the budget and moving the money DESIGNATED for WIFI is going to do nothing for the property values of this village.
Whenever someone looks into buying here, one of the first questions asked is concerning the wifi capabilities of the village.
It should be view as an amenity just as the buses, the clubhouse, the pools, the shows and movies. These are some of the things that attract people to the village. WiFi is just another thing that will attract newcomers and raise the property values.
Many of you paid dearly to live here, then the property values bottomed out. Well, now that they are on the rise again, wouldn't you want more bang for your buck? I do.
I don't want the village to stay behind the times. Those that do, are just foolish.
The so-called malcontents are leading the way to foolishness. Just because WiFi has the name David Israel attached to it, they want to get rid of it. They are letting their hatred of one person get in the way of progress.
That money was collected for the purposes of WIFI and should remain so.
If the so called solution is to wire each building as some claim to work for them, then the monies for wifi should be applied to doing just that. Of course it is beneficial to comcast if everyone takes that route, because in the long run, THEY make money hand over foot on top of what they already get from us.
Whatever is done, the wifi money NEEDS to stay in wifi. That is what the delegate assembly voted for.
What's to say that later on something is voted on by the assembly designated for something else and because of some other foolishness someone decides to take that money and use it for something else?

Waa-waa-waa...Wa-waa-waa-wa

Why is it the same thing, month after month... get rid of Dave... These people have nothing better to do with their lives? Just these little child like games they insist on playing just to aggravate the good people of the village.
Olga was overheard saying that they sat in different seats around the auditorium so it would drive Israel crazy. I don't know if it was something that she really said, but if it was, it goes to prove the child-like thinking going on. GROW UP! GEEZ, How old are you, sixties? Seventies? Start acting your age, not your shoe size.
You Blame Dave for EVERYTHING. You say he has all this control over everyone in UCO. YOU ARE WRONG. There are people within UCO that although they may support David, do not necessarily agree with everything he says. I don't always agree with everything he says, nor do I always agree with everything at the Reporter where I have been spending A LOT of my time, and I let them know if I don't.
(Now I get to go and quote a famous line...) The problem here...is a failure to communicate... (Cool Hand Luke, for those that don't know). Well, it rings loudly with the truth. It's not just a failure to communicate, It's a failure to LISTEN as well as speak. To contemplate what one says and the meaning of what one says as well as what one hears, or wants to hear.
We all know that if David Israel opens his mouth to say anything, to Olga and her cohorts it soulds just like Charlie Brown's teacher...waa-waa-waa...wa-waa-waa-wa. Kinda like when Olga and her friends opens their mouths at a delegate assembly meeting. They get up to say something they think is profound and you can actually hear the audience groan as they approach the microphone. If the assembly had a 'groan' meter, it would definately hit it's peak. Kinda funny if you ask me. I suggest that if she wants to hold the attention of the crowd, put on some clown make-up and a funny hat and at least have some balls to juggle. (just make sure they're your own please).

Split personalities?

Is it a cool trick, deception or is it really two separate people? To write on a blog under one name and answer a blog entry under a different name. What a joke! It's funny how neither have been heard from for the same amount of time. Are they planning another run for office? Pssssst, you'd have to move back. I challenge these two to show up to a delegate assembly meeting, stand side by side side and get their picture taken. We all know one can do it when he drives in from his home north of the village, but unless he brings a large mirror, I seriously doubt we will see them side by side. He can always get himself a ventriloquists alter ego dummy.    There's always photoshop. Who are they fooling? Stand up! Walk up to the mike together, be heard. Suggestion: take lessons from Jeff Dunham before you bring your alter ego dummy.  It would be much more entertaining if we don't see your lips move when the dummy talks... LOL!

Ed and Olga make complete fools of themselves

Once again we have the usual disruptions in the Delegate Assembly meetings by the usual suspects.
Olga starts by giving her usual bull@#$% pertaining to the lawsuit that her cohorts are engineering and she is obviously very much in favor of. SUE! SUE! SUE! They want to sue Israel and UCO.
Everyone at the assembly meeting is shouting for her to sit down, including myself.
Ed Grossman is having issues with keeping his pants on, everytime he rises to say anything, the people behind him are asking him to pull his pants up and complaining about his "hairy crack" being let out in public, so, Ed "pants on the ground" Grossman turns to me and spews out quite a few profanities at me and asks me my name...c'mon POTG, ya know my name! I know you're not THAT stupid. After all, you do have the letters CPA after your name. (Does that stand for Certified Public Annoyance? and are you going through your second childhood with the pants thing? Hint: It is out of style now...just thought you'd like to know).
Now we are getting close to winding the meeting down, and of course, we have Olga going on another rant, when she says if you want me to sit down, raise your hands and I'll sit down...OMG! It was close to unanimous! Did she sit? NO. SHE LIED! AGAIN! She refused to sit, opting instead to have Security come and take away the microphone and stand there like a spoiled brat that couldn't get her way...
Afterwards Ol'pantsontheground threatens to sue me if I speak out at the next delegate assembly meeting...
Bring it on clown. You BOTH made fools of yourselves, gave everyone a good laugh and for that I applaud you. LOL. Pssst...the ladies behind you didn't care for your MOONING them.
I am sure that pics and story to follow. For more on this subject, CHECK OUT THE LAST PART OF THE RECORDED ASSEMBLY MEETING!!!! Enjoy!

WHEN DOES IT END???

I just don't understand the paranoiac idiocy of some people. It seems that every time this particular person misplaces something, or a gecko sneaks into his home, I get accused of breaking into his home. Now he claims someone broke into his home and changed the screws on his deadbolt.
He is talking about changing his door now. I say fine, do what you feel you need to do. He knocks on my door and says something about changing his door and locks again "won't do any good if we don't have a truce."
Truce? Truce for what? He has accused me of stealing association funds (proven to be wrong), breaking into his home and stealing minutes from Board meetings both public and secret, and at least three separate occasions. I have been accused of leaving a dead gecko in his hallway. He and his "friends" from the past board have pursued me to the point of spending over four thousand dollars of association funds with our former lawyers. Note: yes, former lawyer. They took money to pursue something that did not exists and even after it was proven, they seemly continued to take money for nothing.
Take Heed: My last option, fast approaching is legal action against these ridiculous accusations.
This person, along with two or three others have conspired to find some way "to get" me.
One, another in my association had told another owner, that he intends to bankrupt our association. He has gone to Tallahassee and file a false complaint and has kept property belonging to the association even after being asked to turn them over. This person has cost the association over $600 in replacement cost. He WAS on the board, but has been removed. In our association, you can not be behind in dues and fees and sit on the board. Since he owes a debt to the association and refuses to pay it, he disqualified himself and has been replaced.
Another, the main reason for the legal fees, sold his place, (without board approval or a board meeting) and moved in with his girlfriend. More power to him. It won't stop me from pursuing legal action to recover the association fees that he and two others used to waste on legal fees.
Sorry for blowing off some steam, but it had to be said.... and that is what I have my own blog for... and to these folks I say:

Poor John

Former vice president Gluszak sent in the following letter to the Reporter,

"We have to believe it. At the Delegates Meeting on Friday, May 2, 2014, reports were made by UCO  Vice Presidents, as follows: V.P. Dom — changing light bulbs in the village and possibly to close Borden Crossover never mentioning what is happening with the downed fence before gate. V.P. Marcia — quadrant V.P. for above section; never mentioning fence. V.P. Joy — Working two jobs, she thanks Bob Marshall for helping. Little does she realize that she is taking a shopping day away from him @ Costco. V.P. Bob — Nothing to report, not even the fence.Where is our CAM that we pay over $70,000 yearly about this situation with the fence?Security (what Security?) — people lock your cars and Condos to protect yourself. There is a new Club in town called NAS that stands for “Neighbor  Against Stupidity”.
— John Gluszak, Ex-Vice President"

Johnny, maybe the whole thing about the fence just doesn't get through. Here you are complaining that it wasn't mentioned, but the fence was fixed withing days of the meeting. Did it ever cross your mind that maybe, just maybe, it was already in the works?
C'mon John, here you are complaining about Joy working two jobs and Bob going to Costco and paying our CAM $70k a year and Dom talking about lightbulbs and closing Borden crossover.
First let me point out, the CAM makes over 70K a year and we are lucky to get him so cheap. That job is easily a 125k per yr job. He took a huge paycut to come to CV. We got off easy there. We should be thankful that he is here.
Joy working two jobs? Yep, and doing them both pretty well. She does a hell of a lot more than just getting the transponder lane closed at night or getting a pothole filled.
Dom and the lights, well there is a need for brighter lights in some areas and switching to LED lights fulfills that need and the operating cost will offset the cost to change over in time.
As far as Bob going to Costco, well I am sure that what he shops for is no business of yours. Are you jealous that he can go?
Ya'know John, there is a reason that you are an EX-VP. You can't base your whole re-election campaign on just closing the lane and filling a pothole... and bouncing back and forth between the two sides didn't help you very much either..
New club in town? Before you go criticizing these officers, remember one thing...They have accomplished more in five months than you had in a year. As a matter of fact, I can't think of anything you did but close the transponder lane and fill a pothole by the Camden Pool. Please John, if you don't have anything intelligent to say, don't say anything... you may wind up as the poster boy for your own club.

Last thought on the subject: John, if you are prepared to dish it out, be prepared to take it.

Lies, half truths and Olga

Lie: I went to the UCO Reporter office and said he should have died in the war.  The fact is, I went to the Reporter to have an article printed about a pending law changing the amount of pharmacy technicians from three to six. – A law detrimental to seniors because it would take time away from the pharmacist to fill prescriptions. While I was discussing this with a staff worker, Bob interfered. I told him to butt out. During the altercation, he said," maybe you think I should have died in the war. I replied, “Maybe you should have," which is not the same as me taking the initiative and telling him he should have died in the war. – I simply repeated what he suggested. He is aware that I was a serious protester during the Vietnam War. Does it make sense that as a war protester, I would want him dead?

Truth
Olga came in trying to get her article published, an article about increasing pharmacy techs from three to six per pharmacist. That part was true. I asked her if she had any medical background, she said no. I then told her that I did. As a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and that we've had as many as ten techs per pharmacist with no problems, so how is that detrimental to the care of patients? If anything, it would bring the costs down for the pharmacy and they may just pass the savings on to the customers, but she told me to butt out (that part again was true). She lost her temper, called me all sorts of names that made this sailor blush and any other would have too, and stated "YOU SHOULD'VE DIED IN THE WAR!" Direct quote. There were many witnesses there, and ALL heard her rantings. Lanny, the staff member she was talking to, was a little upset with me for commenting on her article, but heard every word. No where did I suggest that maybe she wanted me dead in the war, that was all from the so-called peace loving protester. What a joke.

Lie: "He says, I have no class and suggested that I attend charm school. He even offered to pay.
Me?  Charm school? Now that’s funny."

Truth:Yes, I said she has no class and did suggest she attend charm school. That is true, however I offered to contribute to her going, not pay for it. Big difference.

Lie: "Furthermore, to set the record straight, we are NOT suing ourselves; we are suing David Israel and UCO. Will our insurance premiums go up? If your condo is destroyed in a hurricane, are you going to pay for the damages or will you have your insurance company pay?  David Israel and UCO have damaged our roads, and it will be up to our insurance company to pay."

Truth:If you sue UCO and it's officers, YOU ARE suing yourself. WE ARE UCO. We all are. David Israel and UCO did not damage the roads... The delegate assembly, sorry to say made the call not to pay the extra it would have cost to grind down the roads so the cracks would not come back. Went the cheaper way and now we have cracks. Notice in the last sentence of that particular comment, "it will be up to our insurance company to pay."
Let me ask, have you ever noticed that when you have a car accident, shortly after, your insurance rates go up? What will happen if this stupid lawsuit happens to succeed? First, the lawyers will get their cut, usually a third... that's a lot of money. How is a third of five million blown away helping us? That is one million, six hundred and fifty thousand dollars kissed good-bye! That would leave three million, three hundred and fifty thousand left. If the roads get re-done the right way, what is left? Nothing! In fact it would most likely cost us even more, so where is the benefit? AND on top of that, the insurance rate would rise. No benefit. Except to the lawyer that will get his Bentley paid off.
Olga, learn to read about what you speak of before opening your mouth.
Ya'll have a nice day now.

Note to Esther.

Sorry Esther, I just could not resist. Your comment regarding the article being printed:

Good to know that Joy Vestal is now going to print the article. Realizing that one was wrong is a good step in the right direction. I like what you write here and I hope you like my article on this topic. I was THAT annoyed!
Just so you know, The Reporter is NOT printing what Olga requested, which was her long winded speech at the Delegate Assembly begging for money for lawyers to sue UCO and David Israel (in other words, pay the lawyers to sue ourselves and our insurance regardless of how much it will cost us in premiums later).

What IS being published is an article written by Ed Grossman. An article that was well written and concise.
NOT what was written by Olga.

This is the second time she has come into the Reporter offices and made a spectacle of herself with her trash talk. First telling me I should have died in the war (Desert Storm) and more recently this incident with Joy calling her a F------ C---. No class.

It is easy for someone to come to the defense of colleague when they were there, but how can anyone defend her actions when they were not there. All they hear are Olga's side of the story and not the truth.

She wants money for something? I'd be the first to contribute to her attending CHARM SCHOOL. Want a couple bucks?

What to do, what to do...

Paranoia is a b!t$#!!!!
Having someone accuse you of breaking into their unit is distressing enough, but to have the person accuse you of having them followed, well now that is definitely time to make reservations for the padded room.
Bad enough to have former officers and a board member of our association accuse someone of wrong doing without any proof, but to spend four thousand of association funds to try to go after a ghost story is just plain stupidity.
To top it off, when they are proven wrong, no apology, no retraction of their stupidity. They just keep trying to prove what never happened to begin with. Guess Jack, Phil and Roger will need to pay for their mistake. Especially for having a lawyer violate all sorts of privacy issues.
Also Association files are missing...
What to do, what to do...
Guess it should be up to a judge to decide this one.

Rodney just might have been right...and I'm not talking Dangerfield.

In a conversation with someone that happens to be a fairly new renter, he made some observations that really puts Century Village in a bad light. He stated that he moved in not realizing how political our village has become. The hostilities between the two sides has made it clear that he will move once his lease is up and would NEVER consider buying here.
That is the consequence of the childish stupidity of these constant battles. The constant knives thrown at it other. Rodney King was made a punchline on the late night talk show circuit after his "Why can't we all just get along?" comment. Punchline or not, the words ring true. Why CAN'T we all just get along?
All this hostility just because one personality doesn't like another.
Get a grip. try to put the personalities aside and do something that the village needs. Work together.
Stop the frivolous lawsuits, stop the childish rhetoric, extend an olive branch instead of a knife.
If you can't, then maybe you should consider finding an alternative living situation, because it won't get better until you do.

Enough is ENOUGH already!

I have been purposely keeping quiet since the elections, hoping that people would start getting along and all the hostility would be a thing of the past, BUT NO...
Some people (Gary) can't take the high road. Now HE says he believes the election was run crookedly.
Gary, each side had observers at the count. This was probably the most scrutinized election in the history of Century Village, and you still can't admit when a loss is a loss.
I could understand if YOU were running for office and had some doubt, but it wasn't even that close!
Gary, grow up, get over it, before someone starts to think you are nothing but a bitter old man that has nothing better to do. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Your candidates lost. Nobody likes a sore loser, and from what I have seen, most of the people that have lost have done so graciously, showing some class.
Get over it already.
This village needs some peace, not someone to stir the pot just to make some controversy.
This last election was a bitter one. It's over. Let the village heal. MOVE FORWARD towards the future.

Thanks Phyllis

Phyllis' contributions to UCO and the Village are not anything to make light of. She has done many wonderful things and helped countless people in her years at UCO. Just because she had a "falling out" with the administration in no way diminishes her accomplishments.
The Village owes her a debt of gratitude, and I would suggest that she recognized for it in the very near future.
After a very difficult election, we should be concentrating on licking wounds and healing instead of throwing out more insults or gloating. Let's focus on starting to work on getting things done.
To Phyllis, I say Thank you, I am sorry for your loss, and your husband and you will be in my prayers, God Bless.

WOW...the Village has spoken!

Congrats to the winners of the Century Village Elections!

Now that it's over, let's work to bring both sides closer rather than trying to split it further.

Why did I not ask a question?

Simple, I was there to do a job. I went there to take photos, and I did not care for the overall tone of the meeting, so decided not to participate.
Nothing wrong with that.

Hey Dottie, not that you will matter anymore....

You say a $40k transfer was done and someone is implicating it was

being that this was done “in the dark” and “was probably illegal”

and

It was agreed by all present at that time that this was “surplus money” – earned by the staff of The Reporter and there was no objection to moving this sum to the General account in order to reduce payments from the unit owners.

that is fine, I can accept that. But what would like to know is a little sooner time wise. What about the transfer of $25k from Reporter funds on 6/18/13?
Where did that money go? Why?
As for your kind invitation... don't be surprised if I show up.
Guess your "friend" is tired of playing taxi, huh? What ever. as of March , it won't matter. Enjoy the "good life" at Cypress Lakes. I wish you well there.

Election day is coming fast...

Less than two weeks to go and in the next few days I expect the mudslinging to get really bad. Personally I am tired of hearing the lies and half truths. This election will accomplish one of two things, first, it will Hopefully have the right person to lead. One that has proven himself over and over. One with the proven knowledge, experience and leadership. Hopefully after it's over, his opponent will decide to serve in some other capacity. On a committee, maybe run for Executive board, V.P or president after gaining some experience.
the second thing hopefully will be to bring unity to the village. Granted, that is taking optimism to the extreme, but one can hope.
As for the others running for offices, I wish  them luck, some more than others. I hope the delegates have the sense to vote for the people that are looking to make this village a better place.

Camden Pool Gate

After many variations on the gate ate the Camden Pool, they finally have a gate that works well, that is until some jerk decides he doesn't like the way it opens and tries to break the gate. When approached as he is banging the gate trying to break it, he comes out with cussing and jerking off motions. REAL CLASS.
Hey tough guy, Break the gate, get the bill.
It took a long time to get the gates to work properly, various changes made until there was a good gate that will open out without damaging the gate from people opening it the wrong way. The gates are required by the state to keep people safe. mostly for little people otherwise known as children. If you break the gate, you take the chance of the state possibly coming in and closing the pool, and that would only inconvenience all the other residents. All because some idiot doesn't like the way the gate works. He's a suggestion, learn how to open and close a gate. If you aren't intelligent enough, ask a neighbor to give you a hand. Don't act like a lunatic trying to break it, and try acting like an adult, not some tough punk teen. That can only get you results you may not like.

Was I right, or what?

Well another Delegate Assembly is done and over with. The Tetro Issue was put to rest by President Israel after the committee recommended her dismissal. With only thirty days left to Tetro's term, it was pulled by the president discretion. Made sense on some levels as it showed that she is not eligible to be in office. Eligible or not, it didn't stop Olga from attempting to nominate Tetro from the floor. I must be getting psychic.
I knew Olga would be the one to pull a bonehead move like nominating someone that is not eligible after hearing the recommendation of the committee.
Just because Israel saved Tetro from the embarrassment of being discharged for bylaw violations, did not mean she was automatically able to run.
Olga's reading of an absent Tetro's statement mentioned that she had purchased a property in November. A partial truth... the fact is, she was placed on the title of her lovers property then REMOVED a month later in December. (This is all on the property appraisers website).
They must have realized their mistake and put her back on again in APRIL. Let's see, December, January, February, March, April...that's quite a long time to not be on the paper she claims qualified her for office, even if she didn't live there. Another thing that didn't get pointed out was that when she was put on in November, the mailing address was here in the village, but when taken off and put back on in April, the mailing address was now different. It was NOT in the village, but in Cypress Gardens.
LOOKS LIKE PROOF TO ME.
The poor misguided people that are following Olga and her cohorts really need to do some self examination.
Although technically the proceeding were dropped, it was not dropped until after the recommendation to dismiss was read into the record.
Do you really want to have these people running the village?
Olga wins...BONEHEAD of the Day Award. Congrats, a well deserved award.
